Pet Sterilization

Sierra County Humane Society’s (SCHS) Pet Sterilization Program helps pet owners with the costs of spaying or neutering their personal pets. Please fill out the Pet Sterilization application. If you are accepted into the Pet Sterilization program, we will contact you for a time you can pick up a discount certificate good for $50 off a spay surgery and $40 off a neuter. You must have the discount certificate prior to making your appointment or having the procedure done, the discount certificates are not retroactive. With the certificate in hand, you can make an appointment with Arenas Valley Animal Clinic of Sierra County. Once the surgery is done, the vet will bill SCHS directly for the portion we are paying, and you are responsible for paying the rest of the balance when you pick up your pet. Our Pet Sterilization program offers $40 off neuters and $50 off for spays. Depending upon the size of your pet, this often amounts to over half off the surgery.
