Desert Haven Animal Rescue specializes in providing pets a fresh start filled with love. As a no-kill rescue, we give a clean, safe, and spacious home to neglected, abandoned, and unwanted companion animals until we secure a successful adoption. Our comprehensive service to animals-in-need includes compassion, care plans, adoption, plus we also administer spay/neuter aid to Sierra County residents through the Sierra County Humane Society, our 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Join us in making a difference – support our
efforts or adopt a pet today!
Our volunteers get to know our dogs and cats intimately so we are able to describe them to a T in their Petfinder bios. Potential adopters get an idea of what it would be like to live with each of our animals. Adopting a pet not only enriches your life but also offers a second chance to a pet in need. Contact us when one of our Desert Haven darlings speaks (woofs or meows) to you!
The Spay-a-Stray Initiative aims to control the stray population in our community by implementing targeted spaying and neutering procedures. We humanely trap, sterilize, and return stray animals to their environments, reducing the number of animals living on the streets and minimizing the potential for overpopulation. This initiative not only helps to control the stray population, but it also contributes to the health and well-being of stray animals by preventing the spread of diseases.
We work all year long to rescue and protect defenseless animals, but we cannot do it without your help. The Desert Haven Guardian Monthly GivingProgram is the best way to help dogs and cats in need. As a Guardian you’ll receive a limited-edition Desert Haven sticker, a subscription to our quarterly newsletter, the ability to name one of our rescue animals plus receive photographs with updates of the Desert Haven rescued animal that you named until they are adopted.
But please don’t wait to join as a Member—animals are suffering now, and they need your help today. Click now to review your Membership options.
